Hi All,I Have this issue regularly, I am using SCOM 2007 R2 CU4. But recently this issue has become very frequent. I see more number of old alerts rather than new alerts in my SCOM console. Below is a screen shot. Is there any specific reason for this? Ifyes, How can i overcome this issue.I checked the Health of the databases (Both Opsmanager & Ops manager warehouse database). Both are healthy they have 0 consistency errors in them.
And have enough free space in them.Below is the SQL Query what is used to check them. For OpsmanagerDB -DBCC CHECKDB ('Operationsmanager')For Ops manager Data warehouse:DBCC CHECKDB ('OperationsmanagerDW')Ops db has 16GB Free from total of 40GB.Warehouse DB: 56GB Free from total size of 180GB.Gautam.75801. Hi All,I have fixed the issue. Reasons for this are as below.1.
Poor SQL server performance2. Poor disk performance3.
Small log fileMy SQL & RMS were both to gether in the same server which caused a overload on the RMS to function like the above. Hence we moved only the operationsmanager Database, Datawarehouse is just there in the RMS its selfThere was lot of disk fragmentation on the disk in the scom server. Hence defraagmented the RMS and the new SQL server as well where we have moved the Operationsmanager DBThe operationsmanager Log file was extremely small for the transactions, Hence got it increased to 20 GB I.E 50% of the Ops db size.By making the above changes the issue is solved.Gautam.75801. Hi Mai Ali,Based on your suggestion below are my results:Total Size of the Datawarehouse is 181.16 GBTotal Size of the NAS Drive in which we have hosted the Warehouse is 200GBFree space in Data warehouse out of 181.16 GB Free is 60.2 GB (Free around 30 - 32%)Free space in the NAS Drive is 22.2 GB.Below is the screenshot.Previously we manage 450 Windows agents and we had the same configuration.
But that issue was not there with the same amount of free space. Now we are managing only 425 agents with the same configuration but we have this issue. Also we have Disabled Auto Growth in the Database and Log file so this is a fixed size database and log file.Any other suggestions?Gautam.75801. Hi Simon,Nice article about the Events i am getting. But the environment he is in is completely different. He has his in Virtual environment (VM Ware) I have it in a Physical boxHe has Multiple MS - I Just have a standalone RMS Server with SQL in the same server its self.As he mentions he had to distribute the Run as accounts to the rest of the MS he had - I don't have that situation here.Another point asked is that is this because of SQL Server 2008 standard edition - I am curious to know that as well as we are also running SQL Server 2008 standard edition SP2.Gautam.75801.
